Comparing CBD Products

CBD products flooded the market, varying from tinctures to topicals, and even beauty products with no labeling or requirements, and no standard unit of measurement. As a consumer, it became challenging to make cross-comparisons from one product to another.

But it does not have to be a stressful experience. In this article, we will list the things you should ask and look for when shopping for CBD products.

Has the hemp been grown organically?

Hemp is a bio-accumulator, it naturally pulls toxins from the soil. If the hemp-derived CBD product was not grown organically, you might potentially consume unhealthy chemicals such as heavy metals, pesticides, or molds. At MBRX , we use only organically-grown, hemp-derived CBD in all of our products.

Is the product made with full-spectrum oil or an isolate?

Full-spectrum oil tells you that all of the cannabinoids and were naturally grown in the hemp plant (to include THC at the legal limit of 0.3% or less) are present. Isolate, on the other hand, is a pure, single-molecule compound consisting of CBD only.

It would seem that a product formulated with pure CBD-isolate is better than the “crude” full-spectrum alternative. But in research conducted to test anti-inflammatory or analgesic benefits of each, full-spectrum oil performed significantly in low dosages compared to the CBD-isolate that do not have benefits in the same regard, whether in low or high dosage.

You might be wary that consuming full-spectrum products might get you “stoned.” It is important to note that hemp-derived CBD products, such as the products formulated by MBRX , have the legal amount of THC no more than 0.3%, which is a low to induce any intoxication. You will feel neither stoned nor intoxicated when consuming our products, but there is potential for testing positive for THC.

If you want zero trace amounts of THC in your system, we recommend using our Just CBD tincture. Both our full-spectrum and isolate sublingual drops are enhanced with our potent Sativa and Indica blends.

Full-spectrum oil also includes, which not only have their own medicinal uses but also further enhance the effects of the various cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. The relationship between cannabinoids and is commonly referred to as the entourage effect, where the therapeutic benefits of the whole plant far outweigh any one part. At MBRX, we further enhance the effects of CBD by adding additional proprietary blends. Our products are formulated by our Chief Science Officer, a board-certified toxicologist, and a pharmacologist.

Is the product concentrated?

Many companies will offer misleading amounts, such as 500mg tinctures in 30mL or 60mL bottles. You might see a larger bottle and assume that “Larger bottle = more CBD.” In reality, this concept does not apply. Instead, you are buying a diluted product.

Remember, concentration effects absorption: a concept easier understood when applied to alcohol.

If you were to make two gin and tonics, both with the same amount of gin, but one with 8oz of tonic verses 24 oz of tonic – which would cause intoxication? You would not feel the effects of the alcohol when consuming the cocktail with 24oz of tonic because your body would metabolize the alcohol before it reached your bloodstream. Similarly, if you were to consume CBD from a 500mg/30mL or 500mg/60mL bottle, your body would metabolize the CBD before you received the therapeutic benefits.

Does the company third-party test? Do they share their test results?

All CBD Products of MBRX are 3rd party tested. Result are available upon request.
